CLASP: support for single parent families

Drop-in Projects

Drop in The Hightown ‘Drop In’ project is a weekly service where single parent families can access a range of free practical advice, information and programmes designed to improve their personal development opportunities, and restore their confidence and self worth following the trauma and crisis of family breakdown.

Parents can enjoy child free space and relax over a cup of coffee with the support of the ‘Little Play’ creche, have a look around the Thrifty Shop of good quality clothes, get on those scales at ‘Weigh & Treat’ (yes, you really do get a treat if you’ve lost weight!), or take advantage of talking to some of our visiting professionals. These include the CAB and Wulvern Housing.

Alternatively there are always workshops available and these can provide parenting tips, healthy living, cooking on a low budget, assertiveness training, coping with teenagers and handling anger. At times the CAB provide sessions on managing debt and budgeting, and Cheshire County Council’s Family Learning Dept provide Basic First Aid skills.

For those struggling with the vast amount of confusion, anxiety, fear, stress, loss and grief that often accompanies separation, divorce and / or bereavement, an appointment can always be made with one of our trained Counsellors.

You’ll find the Hightown Drop In open every Thursday morning between 10am & 1pm at Hightown Methodist Church in Crewe.

The Bungalow Drop In affers the same activities as Hightown although on a smaller scale. You'll find the Bungalow Drop In open every Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon in Sherbourne Road, off Middlewich Street.

All are welcome to either or both of our Drop In mornings.
