Little Play Project
‘Little
Play’ is a free crèche service which provides care, fun, structured
play and various learning activities for the pre-schoolers of the lone
parent families who access the service of CLASP through the weekly drop
in sessions.
‘Little Play’ is managed by trained workers, and the various activities the children undertake include reading, story time, arts, crafts, music, dance, drama and games. Staff co-ordinate a curriculum to ensure that children not only enjoy the sessions but that they learn basic skills and social skills in preparation for school.
Parents are encouraged to support their children’s development through various parenting sessions and also through accessing the children’s library in the crèche, and choose books to read at home together.
During school holidays, activities and outing are provided where the pre-schoolers can be joined by older siblings, to experience learning and fun together.
