Walking Tall Project
The service of South Cheshire CLASP reaches out into the community in a variety
of different ways, one being through the Walking Tall Project:
The Walking Tall Project was set up to support all those living a in a single parent family situation, who are endeavouring to come to terms with a history of domestic abuse. South Cheshire CLASP works in close partnership Crewe Women’s Aid and Crewe YMCA on this particular project.
For the single parent Mums who access our service through Women’s Aid we provide parenting tips, assertiveness and anger management skills, confidential listening support and the opportunity to access counselling, enabling them to build their confidence and self worth following trauma.
For the young people at Crewe YMCA we provide safe and informal sessions in which they can explore their feelings and emotions around domestic abuse, and learn how to address their anger in a more appropriate and assertive manner. We also enable the young people to develop their self esteem and restore their confidence.
